What is the syllabus for the Mathematical Olympiad ? |
Pre-degree college mathematic-arithmetic of integers, geometry, quadratic equations and expressions, trigonometry, co-ordinate geometry, system of linear equations, permutations and combination, factorization of polynomial, inequalities, elementary combinatorics, probability theory and number theory, finite series and complex numbers and elementary graph theory. The syllabus does not include calculus and statistics. The major areas from which problems are given are algebra, combinatorics, geometry and number theory . The syllabus covers a few topics from the curricula of Class X to Class XII, but the problems under each topic involve a high level of difficulty and sophistication. The difficulty level increases from RMO to INMO to IMO. |

You can indicate your preference of exam centre during registration; although every effort will be made to allot you a preferred centre, this cannot be guaranteed. |

₹200/- The fee is charged for the first stage, there are no fees for subsequent stages if qualified. |

Your region will be identified as per your school pincode & as per the region definition recommended by NBHM. |

Will I get Certificate at PRMO/IOQM stage? |
Yes, provided the student qualifies the criteria set by the Mathematical Teachers’ Association (India) (MTA (I)). The certificates will be distributed electronically. No hardcopy of the certificate will be sent to your address. |

Will I get Certificate if I clear RMO and qualify for INMO? |

Can I represent India at International Olympiads in multiple subjects organized by HBCSE? |
No, not in the same year. In a particular year, based on your preferences during registration, you can appear in multiple subjects upto pre-final stage i.e INMO level. A student can participate in the orientation/training/selection of only one subject (mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, astronomy, junior science) according to a preference order decided by the student himself/herself. Hence, if selected to the final Indian team, he/she can represent India at the International Olympiads in any one subject. However, students can represent India at other International Olympiads not organized by HBCSE (APhO, Earth Science, Informatics, IAO) provided the dates of international events do not clash. |
