India shines at the International Olympiads 2016

In 2016 India continued its success in International Olympiads. As in previous years, nearly every Indian student who participated in the International Olympiads in Science and Mathematics held last year returned with a medal. In particular, India has secured 13 gold and 13 silver medals and 7 bronze medals among the 35 participants, making this one of the most successful years. One Indian student became the Absolute Winner (best overall performance) in the International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics in 2016.

Overall

Indian students have excelled at all the international Olympiads ever since participation started. Almost every student has won a gold, silver, bronze medal or an honourable mention. Over the years several Indian students have also won special awards for best performances in theoretical or experimental/ observational components in Science Olympiads.
